Growing up in Northern California, Josie watched the two most important women in her life, her mother and grandmother, struggle with health problems. Her mom battled chronic fatigue; her grandmother is a breast cancer survivor - both had sensitive skin that couldn’t tolerate the chemicals in everyday products, and Josie knew there had to be a better way. first, fashion came calling. By age 12, Josie was modeling professionally.osie would ask her glam team: Were there any green formulas out there that were chic and effective enough to use on set? The answer was always no. In 2007, after years of trial and error, Josie introduced the first clean luxury brand. Her exclusive, first cold-pressed Argan Oil became the industry’s first single-ingredient luxury face oil.
